Sustainability & Construction Methods
During the renovation, we retained and reused as much of the existing fabric of the building as possible, planned with an architectural focus on sustainable construction.
Natural materials such as lime plaster and wooden floors are used throughout, alongside durable, carefully chosen surfaces.
A comfortable indoor climate is maintained through:
-
traditional shutters for shading
-
cross-ventilation through open windows overnight in summer
-
ceiling fans in the bedrooms
We use eco-friendly cleaning products.
The garden is maintained in a nature-friendly way and is not artificially irrigated during the summer months.

How we ended up here
In 2018 we came to southern France for the first time and knew immediately: this is our place. The landscape of olive trees, vineyards and cypresses, the particular quality of the light, the small towns with their markets and avenues of plane trees. The sea close by and the unhurried pace of life along the Canal du Midi.
We kept coming back. At some point it became clear: we wanted more than just holidays here — we wanted a place we could return to again and again. And one we could share with others.
In spring 2024 the right moment came. We found a house that felt right from the very first moment.
We bring not only our enthusiasm but also our professions: an architect specialising in sustainable construction and a metalwork designer. Together we have put a great deal of time, expertise and hands-on work into this house.
Today the Domaine de Saint Antoine is our second home — and perhaps soon a special place for you too.
